National PTA Guides

Parents’ Guide to Student Success

The National PTA created guides for parents to help their students be successful. There is a two page (simplified) and four page (more extensive) guide for each grade kindergarten through high school. These documents provide an overview of what your child will learn by the end of each grade in mathematics and ELA. It focuses on the key skills your child will learn in these subjects, which will also build a strong foundation for success in other subjects studied throughout the school year. (Two-Page Guides) (Four-Page Guides)

Created by the National PTA, this guide includes and over of the Wisconsin summative assessments, what they measure, and how the results are used. Note - The National PTA neglected to mention the ACT with writing assessment given to all students at grade 11.
